Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders Reviews
A Clever Student with a Love for Math and Science
Kevin Regep is a student from Crestwood High School. Even at his young age, Kevin has found himself in the middle of many great things. He has welcomed unexpected opportunities for his academic career. And he is still amazed by everything that has come his way.
Through it all, Kevin has had his mother Lidia’s support. She has stood by her son through everything.
It’s also an encouragement to Kevin that his math teacher, Mike Stanek, backs him up. He shares that it was Mr. Stanek who “opened the door” for him to discover his love of math and science. His interest in the subjects began when he was in seventh grade. It was like something had sparked inside him.
Mr. Stanek affirms that Kevin, whom he described as “a super student,” has a “great attitude.” He says that he expects great things from his bright student.

Like many of his peers who are part of SciTechLeaders, Kevin has big dreams for his future. He is working on enhancing his skills, working hard as early as now to make his plans happen.
The National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists Congress Experience
Dr. John C. Mather nominated Kevin to represent Pennsylvania at the Congress. Honor students who are similarly passionate about having STEM careers also joined Kevin at the event. The Congress of Future Science and Technology Leaders was held at Massachusetts.
Though he counts the nomination as an honor, Kevin initially did not know what to expect, but he ended up gaining a lot. He interacted with his peers and he was able to meet influential people from the fields of science and technology. He says that meeting such accomplished people was “very inspirational” for him.
Kevin heard from speakers who are National Medal of Science awardees and Nobel Laureates. He also learned which scientific researches and advances are making waves. Kevin and his fellow delegates received valuable advice from top-university deans. And along with making new friends, he met other science prodigies who motivated and inspired him.
High Hopes For The Future
Mr. Stanek, Kevin’s teacher, says he “grew almost overnight” after receiving his nomination. He was enthusiastic and happy about the opportunity. Mr. Stanek saw how motivated Kevin became after attending the Congress. His experience with the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists gave him self-confidence. Now, he can move forward and take advantage of all the opportunities that come his way.
Lidia, Kevin’s mother, is “very proud” of her son for his achievements. She is a witness to the hard work that Kevin puts in to earn the recognition he has been given. And she knows how important it is for her son to have role models to look up to.
Kevin’s experience at the Congress motivated him to pursue his dreams. He is looking forward to applying his skills and knowledge as he makes his own way to success.
